My first very own website

Hey folks.

This is first test e-mail. If successful, each of you will get to read my weekly (he says ambitiously) journal entries on life in Iraq from my perspective.

When you write back to me please remember a few important guidelines.

1. Don't call me by my first name or last name - "hey buddy" or something like that will do. This is a public website which means ANYONE can read this.

2. Please don't allude to where I live or where I have lived.

3. Let me know who you are - first name is all I need OR last name but not both.

4. Please do reply to my entries whenever you want to - I look forward to your correspondence.

thanks

Well we left St. John, and Rene Zellwegger (sp.) and Kenny Chesney got married there.

They must know something about a special place to be, that we learned. Fix on those points, and keep your eye on the prize.

Hiya Sweetpea! Who's this? It's Carole, of course, your pretend auntie from across the water. (It's OK to say that, isn't it?) Mum has made me paranoid about what I can and what I can't write, but I'll try anyway and you can let me know if I get it wrong. Take care, Sweetpea. My love and thoughts are with you and everyone back home that's missing you. I'll write again soon and let you know what all my tribe are doing with themselves.
Love Carole

It's only me again, Sweetpea. I hope you're still well and enjoying that desert sun. Well, the weather's been so good here that I was able to take off one of my three sweaters today and didn't get the umbrella out once. Mind you, we'll probably pay tomorrow with hailstorms or blizzards. Annabel is planning a family barbecue at the weekend, but I'm guessing that it's only because she wants the muscle in the family to chop down a huge tree in her garden. Smart girl - just like her mother! Everyone sends their love and looks forward to a visit from y'all in the near future. Love Carole

It was great to see "y'all" last night, and we wanted you to know that you will be in our thoughts over the weekend (and beyond). I plan to read through the article sent on your website and will come back to you with my opinion/thoughts. Mum

It was good to see all of you yesterday. Tony Roma's was great, Sonic milkshakes are the best, and being able to hug everyone was the acme of it all. Love from all of us to all of you -- Gran-pere

Go, Sonny! Well, A., we had a great weekend with your wife and girls. One piece of advice: NEVER go to the beach on a holiday weekend! It was your family's idea. I suggested kayaking in the lazy river, but, no, they HAD to go to the beach. Now, we're waiting for the V'Stees to come later this week. We miss you already. Love you, Dorothy

Hope you manage to get some R and R over this weekend. Looks like I will too. Steady rain here for over a week has put any ideas of outside painting on hold until next week when, no doubt, summer will arrive with a blast of intense heat.

We're out to dinner with friends tomorrow night. The bi-monthly get-togethers (jokingly called "serious restaurant reviews" by us)are times when we try a newly-opened restaurant in town and then proceed to give it a score (10 is the highest)! Tomorrow's restaurant reviews promises to score a high 9, based on the location, price list, and menu. Oh, yes, we've looked over the menu already!

The same friends that we will be meeting up with tomorrow night asked to be remembered to you and send their very best. They wanted you to know that they pray for your safety.

Love,

Mum

Happy "Gotcha Day" it seems so long ago! Your photos are wonderful and apprciated! We thought that temperatures in the upper 90's were hot....I guess in comparison it is quite balmy here! Everyone here is doing quite well and wish you a safe and speedy return!
Luv,
MicSco
