The children here are absolutely beautiful. At times we will hand out beanie babies or candy or whatever we can get from the USA usually AFTER our meeting or site visit. I say after because mass crowds will appear from nowhere upon sighting of gifts from the Americans and it is definitely something you want to do when you are getting ready to leave some place as opposed to getting ready to start a meeting with someone....Aren't they cute!

Yes, they are very cute :) That's definitely a photo to enlarge and scrapbook some day. How wonderful that a little gift can bring such joy into a child's life.

Love,

Mum

Hi, Uncle A. I liked the photo of you in uniform with the little girls. I've been to the YMCA today and had good fun. I love you. Thomas

Whew! All that getup must weigh a ton and I'll bet it's hot under there. Wonder if you'll come back looking like the young Marine just out of boot -- very slim and trim?? Like the Telly Savalas look -- maybe I'll try it out -- no, maybe not -- I'd scare the whole family if I lost my beard and ponytail. Take care of yourself -- Luv == Gran-pere

Excellent site mate. Great to see all is going well. Any chance of a game of footie over there. You will be pleased to hear WestHam got promoted to the premiership.

Take care

Hi Buddy,

The children are indeed adorable... definitely my favorite pic yet.

Things are fine here... not too much has changed at work, except daily reminders that we work for a public company with quarterly pressures. :-) You can read between the lines.

Otherwise, we are planning for our training week in Q3 still... which will be the introduction of your PDF project. We are taking an approach of piloting it with one industry group... so we get focused feedback before rolling it out broadly. Just thought you might like to know where it was at.

We are in the process of making some positive shifts personally... recall the discussions we had in the cafeteria and over a game of pool during the last training week. (And yes, you did win, if I recall correctly.) Simplification is our motto now moving forward. We have our house on the market...given that the kids and in-laws are all moving on now. Over the past four years, we've had six people take residence with us, so it's time now to retreat and be by ourselves! We've been scoping out our next home, and have our eye on a nice, modest ranch on the lake. We look forward to a lesser mortgage payment, and less maintenance, and especially the sound of the waves. So we are hopeful that it all works out. The last few years, I have definitely come to realize what really matters. I suspect that you have a pretty clear perspective these days too.

Just wanted to say hello. We think of you often and are glad the site is here to stay in touch.

Also, your Mum sounds delightful... I think I want her to adopt me. Is she taking applications? Based on her posts, I can see how you turned out so great.

Ciao,
ValPal

Hey ValPal:

It is great to get your e-mails. Thanks for the update on the work side. I want to take quite a few pictures of the children...I plan on going out with some of our teams and visiting school sites where we are doing construction/improvements and taking that opportunity to give out school supplies, beanie babies, etc "en mass". The place where I am at is characterized by three distinct cultures...Arab, Kurdish, and Turkish...I have to ask my interpreter who is who so I know to say some basic greetings in the right language without insulting anyone :-)

Your buddy

Hello again, Sweetpea. At last the weather is beginning to warm up here in the UK - 80 degrees today! This is probably Arctic by your standards, but it's our hottest day of the year so far and we're soaking it up. Last week we had a typical British barbecue, jackets on and running in and out between showers. Hopefully tonight's al fresco feast will be a little more relaxed and warmer!

Yes, this photograph is delightful - such beautiful children, but my favourite photo still remains, that gorgeous bald hunk with the unforgetable naughty glint in his eyes!

Please give my love to all your family and you, especially, take good care of yourself.

Love
Surrogate Auntie Carole

CPT C,

Great to see you in print. I'll be on active duty orders here shortly. DOn't think my pics will be quite as awe inspiring as yours. Teh bald headed picture remined me that Jen wants me to do some cleaning. Must be the Bully Bowl-man look that inspired me. See you soon.
